This KS2 Book Journal has 20 comprehension challenges that are applicable to most Fictional Books. Children can use these to self-select challenges during Reading lessons or take the grid home with them to complete during independent reading.

These tasks are open ended, creative and allow children to present their understanding not just by writing answers to question. Why not have a book vlog where children post their findings via a video?
