Eight Ideas From Eight Teachers Vol #1
Eight Ideas from Eight Teachers is the latest publication from WAGOLL Teaching.
There are so many great teachers out there, not just in the UK, sharing great content across social media for free. One of our founding beliefs is that, as teachers, we should be working together and supporting each other to be the best that we can be. We know it can be tough, we know we work long hours, but by sharing positivity and engaging, exciting teaching ideas, we can change education one step at a time! Social media, is a great resource to achieve this, however, it can be difficult to find content that is of high quality and centred around the children.
This is why I have pulled together the best content out there into this e-magazine, to broadcast the amazing teachers out there that are making a huge difference to the day to day lives of their children. Enjoy reading! Featured articles: - Mic Drop Worthy Parent Meetings - Bringing Culture into the Classroom - STEM in EYFS And much much more...

Eight Ideas from Eight Teachers Vol #3
WAGOLL Teaching is built on the idea of sharing simple, great teaching ideas with a global community of teachers - some of who may not be as fortunate to receive the type of professional development they truly deserve. This may be due to geographical locations or a lack of financial investment and support. The teaching profession is a diverse and global community.
There are 1000s of teachers on social media and the internet sharing amazing classroom approaches. My job is to pull all of these ideas together to share in one place that is easy to access. I think this issue really brings the global teaching community together and demonstrates just how diverse we all our. We have teachers writing about all kinds of wonderful topics ranging from conservation initiatives and gamification strategies to simple vocabulary development. It truly is a privilege to work with so many fantastic professionals dedicated to developing the next generation.
I hope this issue inspires you, just as much as it has inspired me!
Reluctant Writers
Reluctant writers can be a challenge in English lessons.
To support them it is important that we look at the root cause of why they don't want to write or find it difficult. In this issue, we break down different types of reluctant writers, how to identify them and how you can help them overcome their barriers.

The Positivity Loyalty Card
This 'Starbucks' style stamp card promotes positive behaviour instead of discussing the negatives. It feels more modern and relevant than the 'old-school' report card.
Simply give them a stamp or tick every time they do something worth recognising. Once the card is complete, they may even receive recognition with some form of reward for their efforts. Simple!

My Reading Journal (KS2)
This KS2 Book Journal has 20 comprehension challenges that are applicable to most Fictional Books. Children can use these to self-select challenges during Reading lessons or take the grid home with them to complete during independent reading.
These tasks are open ended, creative and allow children to present their understanding not just by writing answers to question. Why not have a book vlog where children post their findings via a video?

Simply print the board in A4/A3. Write or stick your list of questions into each square and copy for each group/pair. Children take turns answering a question. Learning to think critically and reason may be one of the most important skills that today's children will need for the future. Ellen Galinsky, the author of Mind in the Making, includes critical thinking on her list of the seven essential life skills needed by every child.
In today’s global and rapidly changing world, children need to be able to do much more than repeat a list of facts; they need to be critical thinkers who can make sense of information, analyse, compare, contrast, make inferences, and generate higher-order thinking skills. But, like all things, it takes practice and support, which is why we created this resource!
